After a weekend at home, Amy Winehouse has returned to the hospital for ongoing treatment.

The 25-year-old singer, whose well-documented substance abuse has triggered a string of medical interventions, spent the past week being treated at the London Clinic. She left the hospital on Friday, but checked back in Monday.

“She had a chest infection [last week] and underwent some tests to make sure nothing else was wrong,” a source tells PEOPLE. (Earlier this year, doctors diagnosed the Grammy-award-winning chanteuse with scarring of the lungs.)

Is Winehouse finally committed to getting healthy?

“She has been told to give up smoking and was initially struggling with that – she was covered in nicotine patches at one point,” says the source. “But she is making an effort.”

The notoriously skinny singer was photographed looking somewhat fuller in the face last weekend – a healthier look that won praise from two British tabloids.

Despite her health woes, Winehouse has been recording tracks in her home studio for an upcoming album, her London-based rep, Chris Goodman, tells PEOPLE.

The 25-year-old has even been learning to play the drums, he adds. “We’ll have to see how that plays out on the next album.”

Kiefer Sutherland is reluctant to watch animated movies – because the 2003 movie Finding Nemo frightened him.

The star took his daughter Sarah, then 15, to the cinema to watch the fish tale, when he got an unexpected shock.

He says, “I can watch something as simple as Finding Nemo. I remember I was watching it with my daughter and it was a fantastic music cue when the shark came through the boat trying to get the fish – and my popcorn went up in the air.”

Sutherland – star of new thriller Mirrors – also recently admitted limiting himself to one horror movie a year, because the experience leaves him terrified.

Republican hatin’ Madonna slammed on Sarah Palin at her show at the Meadowlands last Saturday night. Ensuring that she will never be invited to dinner at the Alaskan Governors Mansion…Madge ranted about Sarah and Mr. Palin’s snowmobile.

“Sarah Palin can’t come to my party. Sarah Palin can’t come to my show. It’s nothing personal.” Then the kabbalah queen told the crowd, “Here’s the sound of Sarah Palin’s husband’s snowmobile when it won’t start,” followed by a loud screeching noise.

David Duchovny has checked out of a rehabilitation center for sex addiction, according to his lawyer, Stanton “Larry” Stein.

“David is out of rehab and about to start a new movie,” Stein tells PEOPLE. “He successfully completed his treatment.”

The actor, 48, voluntarily entered a facility to treat the addiction in August, Stein told PEOPLE at the time.

We were all feeling sorry for Sharon Stone last week when we found out she lost custody of her son Roan. But after reading some of the custody documents that were leaked today, we should all say a big  ‘Thank you Jesus’ that this kid’s father stepped in and took him away.

According to the court records, crazy old Sharon keeps freaking out about non-existent medical problems with Roan. She’s convinced that he has a spinal condition that there is no evidence of and she tried in vain to get a doctor to inject Botox in her 8 year-old sons feet.

And then the court says, “Another example of an overreaction is that Mother suggested that Roan should have Botox injections in his feet to resolve a problem he had with foot odor. As Father appropriately noted, the simple and common sense approach of making sure Roan wore socks with his shoes and used foot deodorant corrected the odor problem without the need for any invasive procedure on this young child.”

Word on the street is that Adnan Ghalib has already received a $5 million offer for his two hour sex tape of himself and Britney Spears. Adnan filmed the video while the couple were on a mini-vaca in Mexico and right smack dab in the middle of the ‘Batshit Britney’ period.

Apparently the tape is as real as a heart attack and Britney’s attorney’s are working overtime to purchase the film and bury it. Suck it up you alleged murder!!!

A jury in Las Vegas late Friday night found O.J. Simpson guilty of armed robbery and kidnapping – 13 years to the day after his acquittal in the so-called trial of the century for the murders of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown Simpson, and her friend, Ronald Goldman, in Los Angeles.

In the latest case, the former football and movie star, 61, and his co-defendant, Clarence Stewart, 54, were convicted on all 12 counts against them. The armed robbery and kidnapping charges carry a mandatory five years behind bars and a potential life sentence.

Sentencing is scheduled for Dec. 5.

The case involved a six-minute incident over sports memorabilia with two dealers in a down-market Las Vegas hotel 13 months ago. Simpson later said he was merely reclaiming his possessions.

New details on Heather Locklear’s arrest are emerging, including a 911 call and the battery of tests the actress underwent Saturday evening.

A spokesperson for the California Highway Patrol confirmed to ET a 911 call was made by a concerned citizen around 4:30 PM Saturday after she observed a woman acting strangely and driving erratically as she left a parking lot in Montecito, California- an upscale town adjacent to Santa Barbara.

Among the details, the CHP rep tells ET Locklear was observed by the citizen as backing over a pair of sunglasses several times while she was attempting to maneuver out of the parking area.

Hero’s Hayden Panettiere’s father has been charged with misdemeanor battery and could be facing one year in jail. Alan Panettiere was arrested in August on a felony domestic violence for allegedly hitting Hayden’s mom, Lesley.

The two had been seen arguing early that night at a Hollywood charity event and the argument escalated to the point that police had to be called later in the evening. Much later in the evening…the cops were summoned to the Panettiere’s West Hollywood home at 3:15am.

Big daddy has a court date next month and if the judge convicts him he could get the maximum of one year in jail. Both Alan and Lesley have been downplaying the entire thing saying it was “all a big understanding”.

Although a police report claims Alan struck Lesley three times, the couple insist “nothing actually happened. “[We] love each other very much and want everyone to know that the matter was completely blown out of proportion,”
